I am in the process of creating another website for patchwork templates & help. Please take a peep at www.patchworktemplates.com - it has a shopping cart for templates plus lots of new images and a great help section. It is not finished yet so if you cannot find what you are looking for please ask!
I still have lots to add to this page - much of my older work is in trunks and needs to be sorted - hopefully soon I will photograph and write about it!
The Pink and Green Patchwork (started about 1971) - inspired by a black and white photograph of an unfinished quilt in the Victoria and Albert Museum. I started this patchwork when I was about 14 years old - my mother bet me £5.00 that I would not complete it - (probably to stop me going through her extensive fabric collection)

I have been turning out some of my unfinished work - although this is not made of little handsewn hexagons I still think it qualifies for this section - because its overall shape is a hexagon and there are hexagons within the design - very simple to create - just divide an equalateral triangle into 2 or 3 sections and put together.
The same method was used to create this piece of work - although I got to the stage of backing and quilting it!
Just found this piece - made from 1cm hexagons - I clearly lost patience when I started this project some 20 years ago!
Again another piece found in the ottoman! - this is made of silks - I think I had a silk sample book. unfinished - shows what you can do with striped fabric - would look great under glass.

The Happiness Quilt 1989 - over 3500 hexagons - handsewn - imperial size 1 and a quarter inches - made using glazed cotton chintz - plus some cambridge design fabric - green colour way.

This was my first try at handsewn patchwork - dates back to the 1960's (as you can see by some of the fabrics!) - The hexagon size is imperial inch and a quarter. If you would like to see the reverse side - a real mix and match of colour please email
This is the reverse of the patchwork above - you can see it is a real mish mash of colour and no design direction.
I made this bed quilt in the early 1980's some of the fabrics are polyester cotton - it washes up beautifull. I used 5cm dia. hexagons in this work.
